Honestly, I never dreamed (well, yes I have dreamed of John Prine wearing a white suit - like a John Travolta I would have the opportunity to see John Prine again. Here we are, I am going to glide down the side of the mountain in October.
I hope to soar like the eagles I watch everday. I'll roar like __go ahead take your pick__ When I hear....
Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome, John Prine!
I will do the paradise wave, I always do the paradise wave, to deer, eagles, any animal that comes to pay me a visit.
I am so filled with excite!
On a sadder note, I understand, in this Full Johnny mode, it will probably be the last time for me to see John Prine in concert. We are going to soon be the old folks to which someone we wished would say 'Hello In There ~ Hello.

Well, as soon as you are "old folks" we'll understand why you can't leap off the mountain to get to see him. ... Since our Johnny is older than you, then, you, my dear, are still a young 'un and if you find that you need help off that mountain, just start hollerin from your perch on that mountain and we will send you some rope ....
"old folks" pshhhhhawwww.... The best remedy for feeling like that *IS* to get to a Prine show!!

Our Johnny is the same age as my noisemaker
I am going to place a bulletin on the community board asking if anyone is going to Vancouver sometime during that week. It is our Thanksgiving so there could be lots of folks flocking in/flocking out. Smucksville, if I have to hitch hike down the mountain, I will.
Keep the rope near. I have lots of lung capacity for the hollerin'.

ah, now - what do I to take for our Johnny....hmmm....
It is my understanding John Prine no longer accepts treasures. I guess he must have received too many. If it was me, I would accept them all and open up The John Prine Museum in Paradise, Kentucky. That would give that lil bit of a community a boost.
I could bake something, Pecan Bars! Geez, those are good. But, what if they have allergies to nuts? Butter Pecan Honey Nuts Loaves, what if they have allergies to dairy? I am in a PBP - Prine Baking Pickle.
Welcoming Suggestions. Thanks, jpp

I suggest sending a picture to John of Noisemaker holding up a big honkin' slab walleye/northern/Lake Trout and saying "your personal fishing guide awaits!" Bet John and the boys would like a break like that! Just gotta have enough chairs on the porch when it's time for the jam session! And Butter Pecan Nuts Loaves... |

Lordy, yes must make a note - no mushrooms. You know up here we have those kind of mushrooms that are magic
Why I was just thinking early this morning what a fine time it would be to take John out on the lake. However, I do not do worms, I do not clean fish, heck - I don't even touch them. I only sit in the boat and hold the fishing rod. That is my extent of fishing.

I went to get the mail this morning at the community mail boxes. I found an envelope in my post box. In big red print is my name, below that it reads....is this who I think it is?.....below that the name of the sender. The sender is my mail delivery person. I thought to myself what the heck is that? I stood there and opened it up. From the envelope fell a piece of newspaper, I picked it up...it reads:
JOHN PRINE IN CONCERT The Centre In Vancouver For Performing Arts Friday, October 16th, 2009
yep, We're Prinein.

ooohhhhwhhheeeee, that they are. I just printed up a thank you note to the fine mail delivery person.
Several months back, I remember telling her about Prine. Then, she went on leave because of a bad knee (scheduled for surgery in August 2009). I can't believe she remembered the conversation and took the time to PRINE! ah, such fine folks!

ooohhhwwhheewww, folks are we going to be Prinein' in Vancouver!
Yikers and Yonkers - CrabbyChar once entertain the fact that if John Prine came to Vancouver, she would attend. I would swoop down from the mountain side and we could go together.
You all, just lift your left hand (not above your shoulders), give CrabbyChar and jpp the 'paradise' wave.
We are meeting in Vancouver - we will be sitting together on October 16th, 2009 - in The Centre For The Performing Arts.
It is the pick up ticket thing, I do not know where we will sit. I know, it will be Prine Fine!
*she, once again - near sheds a tear; but has the strength for a Paradise Wave*

I have checked out and have received emails for what viewing for free activities CC and I can do. One will most certainly be the morning/afternoon of October 16th, 2009. I must get my picture taken with our Johnny. Lordy, I will be all knocked kneed and I understand, I can only give him a handshake and a hug. That is OK, we will have the H&H! and a digital photo!

I was thinking this morning what song I would like to hear when I grace the Centre of Performing Arts with CC to see our Johhny.
Paradise, that is my favorite John Prine song. He always plays as the last song, right? Then, I thought of Storm Windows, Saddle In The Rain, Blue Umbrella, ... I had so many John Prine songs in my head - it was like a John Prine Super Nova!

When I was younger, much younger - my older brother loved Diana Ross (he still does). He would do Diana and my other brother and I would be Mary Wilson and Florence Ballard. Get the picture.

I sat today and got a bunch of little incidentals to take with me to when I get down from the mountain side to see our Johnny. Honestly, all that got me in Prine flutter. Heck, while I was doing my incidentals, I sat here and listened to Paradise - thought to myself - soon it'll be time for the Paradise Wave.
oh no, the incidentals they are not for Johnny, they are for Prine friends. I think I am going to take the Unturtle Bars. It will be cooler weather, they will not melt and if the roadies/John Prine won't take them - well, CC and I will enjoy them. I was thinking of making a double batch!

One month from today - I will be Prinein' Mega. I got my ticket today to get off of the mountain, geez, I was shaking and I had to go through the dates of departure to/from three times. I, took a moment, and told the clerk - I am a bit excited, I am going to see John Prine. John Who she replied. I said, oh no - not John Who, John Prine....a sort of folk singer...my prine friend from Madison ... on and on I went, I was on a roll. I think she may have thought I had rolled, but no, it was truly Prine excite. I walked back to the vehicle, stopped after three steps, did the Paradise Wave. Somehow that wave just comes natural to me. jpp |

I also received a Prine parcel today - from Skunkeyejan. Geez, I have no idea what it is. She has written special instructions Do Not Open Until You Meet CC in Vancouver. Greetings From Vancouver - this is jpp - however I am on cc's lp and trying to learn. We went to the venue last night, I saw no posters of our Johnny; I am thinking to speak with them today and ask the question where is our Johnny
We celebrated a John Prine Christmas last night. Santa was very good to us - we both received The Prine Time News - as recorded by jpparadise. I will take a photo of it and post later. Santa is SE. Thank you Mrs. Claus.
CC brought several photos - teehee - I saw several of all you Priners/Prinettes. Lots of you Crusher!
We have 33 hours until we enter Paradise - holy smucksville!
I become still all a flutter and still have some difficulty in believing oh my! I'm here and I'm Prinein'.
CC showed me John on youtube - now just isn't that a marvel. I cannot received that on dial up - that is like your own private Johnny concert!
We are off to tour the sights of Vancouver - naturally I will have to walk a dozen times more to the venue and say to myself - Mr. Prine - it is almost time.

Geez, it is all so clear in my mind, the songs - the stories of John Prine.
I was merely walking up the aisle, I left CC chatting. A man, a young man maybe 25 said, 20 after 12 - back alley. I knew it would be right.
I took advantage of it... went to the hotel room to regain and recoup.
12:15 a.m. CC uses the house phone, I already know. Thanks, just the same, I will be right there.
To meet John Prine again (and oh, I did not leap at him), to have him autograph my Hatch Print - yep, priceless.
Side note - make sure the plastic is secure on your storm windows!
Yes, John Prine - the little spirit of a thing that you sign the John Prine Hatch Prine - that is me! Thank you. jpparadise |
