NoTicketDonna lives in Memphis, a few hours away. I would love to go there, too, and meet up with her. I would get some Big Ol' Delta hugs!

Is this one where the pre-sale/sale of tickets is further on up the road? Don't see it on the 'tour' listings. This is a pretty big WOW!

Oh Boy just announced 5 new concert dates:
2/19 - Merriam Theatre in Philadelphia, PA
2/20 - Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, NJ
2/26 - McFarlin Auditorium in Dallas, TX
2/27 - Bass Concert Hall in Austin, TX
3/26 - Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN

Dallas, Austin and Nashville all are available now for pre-sale through musicfansdirect.com. The Philly and Red Bank date do not have presales through Oh Boy however. Red Bank is for sale now to all folks through the venue website with Philly ticketing info still pending.

Oh Boy is also are running a two-week sale through the MusicFansDirect.com site in honor of John's birthday Oct 10th.
10% coupon code for a purchase over $15 --- 10percent2009
15% coupon code for a purchase over $30 -- 15percent2009
20% coupon code for a purchase over $50 -- 20percent2009

Those discounts cannot be applied to tickets however.

I think that is about it. - I have all the links up now and am almost back into the Prine shrine groove again...... going from 95 degree weather into frost and 40's kind of withered me a bit..... http://www.jpshrine.org/ontour.html

Thanks to you Reeda for keeping us ahead, abreast and afoot of all the current Prine news. What would would we do without you?

You sound like you are gong through climate shock from your southern expedition. Bet it was nice while you were there, though, eh? (How do you like my "Canadian"?)

So, I'm looking at planning a spring vacation around the Nashville concert. Looking for ideas.

I want 4-5 days in Nashville. Visit Oh Boy with fellow Priners. Play some open stages.

Stop for a burger basket in Muhlenburg county.

Drift up through Knoxville and visit WDVX. Maybe take in Bristol Sprint race Saturday before John's concert. Have a beer with Chad!

Doc Watcon. Gosh, could he be playing somewhere around then?

Buy a fiddle in Appalachia. Should have done that in Mt. Aries NC, Andy Griffith's home town, when I was there before! Have a pork chop sandwich 'all the way'.

Stop and see my Sweet Pea at Georgetown.

Visit Gettysburg and play tribute to the 1st Minnesotans.

**Heck, I need a nice long vacation! This is getting exciting!

That sound's like some vacation, RS! Sounds like a whole bunch of fun. Do you think we could go to Oh Boy? Do you think they would let us in? Or would they lock the door and run?

Why, of course, ohboy is out there shopping for the red carpet - right as we write!

Smucksville folks, if I got to Nashville, to the Ryman - to see John Prine - you are Prinerightsville, I would be going to visit ohboy records!

Plan ahead, email them, ask the question - you will not know if you do not ask. In the field of prine opportunity, it is ploughing time again -jpp

I realize we are near Halloween, but do not be afraid. It is not as if you are going 'dressed up' - it will be March. Oh lord, do not tell me you think you may not dress up and will be ohboy naked ... Yikersville!

My guess is the doors to ohboy are always on the side of locked as is every record company in Nashville. That is why I suggest to the folks going to Nashville/ohboy plan ahead. Inquire, all they can say is no. Of course, they might make you through some high security for homeland security issues or something of that nature. Maybe they have some swamp bucket out front that you have to wash your boots through or maybe one of those high classed measuring tapes on their door - you know that measures up your vertical ways.

Geez, if you are all that in doubt, I will email to ohboy on your behalf - I still have the glow, it may only be a sparkle by March - but I do have Prine faith.

Let me know your Prine wishes
And no you only get one
Not three
jpp

I edited this as I am secure there are several folks attending John Prine Nashville. Folks - I am of Prine faith, that is why I reign the crown of back alleys.

I am not a person of Prine ecentric, I know Prine only comes to concert in Canada about once every four/five years. I make the most of every concert I attend and yes, the best Prine concert is that to which you are own.

tee hee - the door is always locked, so don't be disappointed..... an
d it is possible that no one will be there since they could be getting
ready for a concert..... but just walking down the street in that are
a is pretty cool, it's cute and quaint and nothing like I thought it w
ould be.... a real neighborhood feel.

And if you can't actually get in the door...you can always pose by it
http://www.jpshrine.org/red/nv/xohboy5.jpg

or straddle OhBoy in the parking lot

Does ohboy have a parking lot?

Would one have to lean on their left leg in the parking lot dirt - or is the parking lot paved?

Is a question really a question, when you know the answer too. . .
And the sky is black and still now on the hills where jpp sings. . .
Ain't it funny how a snowflake, looks just like a diamond ring. . .

hmmmm, I don't remember exactly where, but it was somewhere in the downtown area....

Yes, they have a parking lot, paved, that is shared with other businesses.... and it's not real huge, so leave the cars at home and walk down Music Row....

but be careful, I hear that there are exploding squirrels on the power lines in the area.... tee hee... nope, sorry, no pictures

Tailgate - oh, RS - wouldn't that be Prine great/grate. You could all bring them portable bbq's and have a wing ding - cooking up those weenies, have some martinies and sing John Prine while you are cookin'

It is lotto night tonight - if I win big - I'll take you all to Prine-in Ryman.

I pray the odds that Bev will beat,
In the lotto rough, win a diamond,
And take us Prine-in at the Ryman!

Amen!

**Good grief Charlie Brown, rhyming diamond and Ryman!

hmm...Crusher, I cannot believe you attended any John Prine concerts and came out with a fuzzy weekend..huh, what, and duh dodeedo.

My only advise (like I am a Prine expert on concerto Prine)...is make certain -five star- them Prine folks you meet up are Prine folks you want to meet up with.

To view the concert at the Ryman, John Prine - hell - I will have to win lotto for that - yep, do the Prine cross, Paradise Wave, do anything.

No lotto here. That is ok. I will carry the Prine glow along with SE right to you folks in the south.

I am a quiet Prine fan, I opt not for noise, I only wish to hear the vocals of John Prine, his pickin'.

There is one exception, I raced on in when I saw the image of some far off photo I recalled of John Prine - I saw it here - I did not hear it on the six o'clock news (there were no shadows). It was John Prine - after hours!

Very simple here folks, John Prine does this for a living - he sings to us to provide for all of his family.

Some folks at concerts have come home late or in the early morning hours - some folks have not come home at all.

When you are all sportin' the Nashville scene and you are fortunate enough to see John Prine in his hometown, have respect. Glow in the moment - send some to Canada.

SE and I, will be John Prine waiting.
