Looks like my 2X is down the road a bit! But I'll get it then and in plenty of time for Nashville. Geez, now they added Chattanooga. Don't think I can hit that one, too. Looking at going up through N.C. and D.C.

Yes, I'm going to pass on Chatanooga, also. If they were swinging west to Memphis, instead of east, I would figure out a way to go, because I want to meet up with NoTicketDonna. Here that Donna? Sometime in the future, you are going to get a Big Ol' Crabby hug!

(That sounds like Thanksgiving with your cranky old Aunt _____! You fill in your family member's name.)

I wonder what is on the back of the t-shirt?

Men's small - sure, I can fit that. I launder it up and pray, it shrinks!

Also must pass on Chatanooga. I got a Prine Glow heavenly shining from Vancouver - geez, can't ya see it?

I like it!

It made me think ... I'm pretty sure none of my kids have a clue what a '45' is! Remember those bright yellow discs that used to snap into the middle of them so they'd fit on the turntable spindle? Did those things even have a name?

I remember those! That sound like something John T. would know.

Was not the yellow disk, called an adapter?

Maybe that was it. I always thought it was the 'center piece' - until Martha Stewart made that into something much bigger!

My first record player had an adapter (about the size of a cardboard toilet paper tube) that you could put something like 10 45s on. After one would finish playing another would drop down and start playing automatically. Eventually I upgraded to an 8 Track player!

If my memory serves me correctly, I had that toilet paper tube on the second record player. Never did have an 8 Track player. Geez, we do not even have a cd player in the old van. It is ok, I can receive two radio stations while driving to the general store. Neither of which play Prine.

Geez, SE - ya got me wondering - what did Martha do to make it bigger? My next question - has John Prine ever been on The Martha Stewart Show? They could bake up some enchiladas! She's a bit older than our Johnny, so I am certain she would know of the 45's, 78's, and of course the toilet paper tube.

Oh, I can see it now - making them enchiladas, Martha sportin' the new Prine shirt...talking about adapters...John talking about everyreadys...

We too had one of those 'tube' devices for the Hi-Fi that you could stack 45's on, and our portable RCA Victor record player had a little piece that just twisted up to accommodate a 45. I guess those were both 'pre' "center pieces".

And, my mom had an 8 track player (my brother left it) - but only one 8 track cassette - by Roger Whittaker, that she played all the time. Man - he was talented ... he could sing 2 completely different songs at the very same time...although one of them always sounded like background music.

JPP - Martha didn't actually make it bigger - she just took the words 'center piece' and made them mean 'something big and fancy that sits in the middle of a dinner table' - you know... 'the center piece'! In our house it's the salt and pepper shakers - probably not quite what she had in mind!
