FROM: Brent Robinson Well, it was another great
performance by John. I sure wish he'd play sour grapes sometime but you can't
always get everything you want. When the group I was with was heading to the
Rendevous to eat we saw Iris with her big white guitar case. We stopped right
beside her and heard her asking a store clerk how to get to the Orpheum. Not
exactly sure why we didn't offer to help her. I guess we were a little surprised
to see her. There was only really rude person at the concert who kept yelling
out "NEXT!" during Iris's performance. I guess some people can't
handle booze and good music.
FROM: ...Great show,,,,less the fights of course. I
thought for a minute it was gonna turn into a jerry lee lewis type
crowd,,,,which of course is ok for a jll concert. But all in all an evening
extremely well spent.
FROM: Anita and Tim We just got home from the Memphis concert at The
Orpheum. This was my finace's first John Prine concert, and we were both blown
away! I'd trade some of the biggest name concerts I've seen to see this one
again! Incredible. We couldn't believe the intesity of the sound coming from
these three musicians. I'm 40 years old and can't think of many better concerts
I've ever been to, and there have been MANY! Come back soon!
FROM:: Oh my stars*** Saw John Prine in Memphis
April 1. He was at his prime Prine. He did it all...u will not be disappointed
if you are going to see this show. Encore...sang duet with his wife Fiona (Tear
becomes a Rose), and Paradise with brother Billy, Iris and Fiona. Great show
wish I could see him again. :0)

Nashville show 3/30/00 at the Caffe Milano was fantastic. This fund raising
show was for a local Nashville high school. John was his usual self and
performed to a small crowd that was hanging on every song. He does his best work
in the small venues and this night was no exception. I have been to several
Prine shows and have not heard "Hello in There" in a few years, but he
did this song alone acoustic style and it was awesome. He did a mix bag of
tunes, some I have not heard in a while. John once again stumbled on a few lines
during the "Missing Years" and then went on to adlib a few new lines.
It was great as he was really working the crowd with several new stories. I did
not chart the songs because I was too busy enjoy myself, but he played a lot of
favorites. The encore was great as the family joined in for "Paradise"
and "Tear Becomes a Rose". The crowd was very small and intimate and
John offered his services to raise money for the community. Awesome show, can't
remember the last time I saw a bad JP show.
