I’ve been a Prine fan for over 20 years but this was the first chance I had to catch the man live, and alive and well he was.

John seemed in good spirits and truly seemed to enjoy himself at the newly renovated Alabama theater. And what a beautiful theater it is. While John entertained the almost capacity crowd by painting pretty little pictures with pretty little words, I couldn’t help wondering all the hours of joy and happiness this one man has brought to so many people. After his sound check and during a quick couple of photos with John, my wife Benee’ and myself. I asked John how he felt. "I’m feeling good, Thanks", was his reply. I’d just spent two weeks in Japan and China just prior to his show. Looking forward to the show and listening to John Prine CD’s on the long trip home made the many hours coming home pass by a bit quicker. When I shared this with John, he was kind enough to say, "welcome home". I’ll never forget that day and night and I only hope I have the pleasure of catching John again soon. If any of you have the chance to see and hear John, do yourself a favor and catch his show !
