I Saw My First Covered Bridge!

And don't have one freakin' picture of me with it to prove it! That's what I get for lettin' the boytoy sleep all day Saturday and not take care of my needs! Haha.

The focus of this trip for me was to be able to spend some time with my Prine Phriends since the past few shows were just too darn short in the visiting department. And meeting new phriends is always an added treat! Rich and Julie and all the Lawton Gang showed hospitality and such a good time that I only thought Southerners could provide! Y'all deserve a sign at the two entrances to your town stating "Proud Hometown of Soiree Planners", not just a grape juice town! Y'all outdid yourselves and it was worth the bazillion hours driving to get there!

The campsite was perfect, and we loved meeting Florence. When you see her tell her I'm still checking ebay for her and the blue glass stuff she collects.

Reeda and Terry - lordy lordy, what can one say about y'all? Do y'all truly realize the impact you've had on our lives? Do y'all realize how many of us would still be adoring John and what his music does for us all alone because we're tired of explaining to people when they ask, "John who?" Reeda, I would lick your leather Birkenstocks anytime sweetie! (can't wait to get that picture developed!) My one question is this, "how come I've aged over the past few years and none of y'all have? hmmm?" It's cuz of the colder weather all of you have, huh? Not fair!

Highlights of the weekend: Seeing Crusher's panties (and Terry's face), blueberry muffins, concrete picnic table where the hoods hang out, Rich singing, Julie sleeping on a concrete picnic table, pulling pork with Priners, trying to figure out which part of Kathy 47's hair is real and not (teehee), having JonS and KathyO wiggle their butts dancin' right in front of me and Dennis' faces teehee, blueberry muffins, listening to the fights at the tent across from us on Friday night, blueberry muffins, standing next to the Padre and not gettin' struck by lightnin' for it, blueberry muffins, getting into Julie's dads' will, hangin' out with Florence at the showers, blueberry muffins, watchin' how cool it is to see son's hangin' with fathers and enjoyin' it (Ed and Crusher), blueberry muffins, hangin' with HempFarmers and thanking my parents for not letting me run off to a commune 30 years ago - love a free spirit, truly I do, swappin' stories about droppin' food on bosoms with luluwalls (wow!), watchin' the camp Gestapo get bent out of shape over tarps and ten dollars, I could go on and on.....

Unfortunately, the show on Friday was not a highlight, but oh well! I'll not choose to sit in the second to last row in a balcony again until I find out if the theatre is climate-controlled. Dennis and I had to leave the theatre during "In Spite Of Ourselves" because the heat was absolutely unbearable and we couldn't get any water to drink except out of the sinks in the bathrooms. We had a few words with the "in-house manager". I was more infuriated that a man younger than my kids would talk to a real grown up (yeah, I'm a real grown up! haha) in the manner that he did. I have written management of the theatre and received a response. I think there might be some customer service training in their future. I'm sorry we missed John's new song, waaaayyy sorry to have missed that...I was most sorry that I couldn't meet my dream - have a pic of me and Dennis with John. I so wanted Dennis to get to meet him, he wanted to also. But, I'm a believer that all things happen for a reason.

I'm a happy camper cause I got to be the fool I am with my favorite people in the world (next to my kids who have no choice but to be in my life).

Thanks again...oh, and by the way...Illinois has the nicest rest areas yet! God knows we stopped at every freakin' one of em on the way up there!
