MILWAUKEE

We arrived at the concert in our big yellow bus from Burlington
with our 33 riders in fine shape ... I think that John just loves
Milwaukee and has a lot of family and friends that come to see him
there. He sure was grinning and geared up, seemed more at
ease, sang all of his "Milwaukee" songs and did
a lot of conversing with crowd.
He
had us singing, asked for requests and the crowd went wild. The
night before in the dressing room he had asked us if he could
sing a song for us, and Julie said that she would love to hear
"One Red Rose" (to make a long story short, she thought
her husband Rich had written it) John sang it for her, what a
thrill to hear her name. I asked for the downer one, and the crowd
was too "up" this night. hahaha, which downer song?
Third of July silly.... start requesting it, start hollering it,
he sang if for Brussels and Ames.... you all will love the tune
and lyrics, I know that I do.

After the show we caught Todd Snider walking
in front of the Pabst and I asked for a picture with him, and
he obliged.... hahaha,
out of nowhere appeared Shorty's little sister Kathy and that
crazy Meaghan. I think Todd got a kick out of this, because
the group around him grew and the picture taking just kept going.
Finally, his body guard Spike (who Todd promised me that she would
kick my ass if I took her picture) moved him on his merry way.
Ah, Everybody loved Todd... he was so approachable for a guy who
just "ain't quite right" and I say that endearingly.
