Sniff, I always get a bit sad when the fun ends. Doing these triple headers may tire one out, but it sure is a bummer to go back to the 9-5 life (like I really lead a 9-5) life.  I hoped to say good bye and have my fingers crossed to see him later this year some time.  Several of us stood outside, this time I was fairly sure that John would do a little meet and greet, so I promised a few women to stand up near the front and said, I am sure that you will get to meet him (I never say this, I never know) but tonight I was sure that he would. We waited for a a few minutes and John's guitar tech came out and asked for Reeda and Kathy, (a horrifying excitement set in) "John would like to see you in his dressing room"  After waiting until the count of ten after the toilet flushed he opened the door and asked us in. Immediately he apologized that he would not be able to meet with everyone and was on his way to the hospital to see his friend. I had no voice, so I pretty much watched Kathy do all the talking... they talked about everything, and I stared around his dressing room, right in front of me were his "concert boots" so quietly, I slipped out of my clogs and into his boots.... pretty small and tight for such a bigger than life man..."Pretty tight aren't they Reeda?" he asked. (man, I just can't quietly get away with anything can I?) Either the boots were new, or I have found the answer to his hip problems!  He and Kathy compared hip surgery's, she was going a mile a minute and he was sort of giggling - patting my hand once, reassuring me that I would get to say something. I had lost my voice so it didn't matter. Too much partying with those Prine fans the night before in Madison and Burlington.
