Thank you, John Prine, for the best concert I have ever attended!!!! This night was so special and you really rocked. We couldn't believe that it was 11:44 when we got to our car and you never took a break! Please come back real soon to Colorado Springs! Everyone I saw was having just as much fun as my husband and I. I can't wait to get your new CD. I wish we had know you were giving autographs - I would have been in line also. I'm 58 and this wasn't my first concert - but is definitely the best one ever!!! Thanks and please come back. Happy holidays to you! :-)

Wow, What a show, John treated us to all the oldies as well as some of his new tunes, can hardly wait for March to get the new album. Jason Wilber was great too! Really enjoyed the "69" song. John was kind enough to treat us to a small "Grip and Grin" session. Holy cow, an autograph, handshake and photo with one of the greatest story tellers of our time. I've been waiting 29 years to met John and it was worth the wait! Thanks for the great show and best of luck in 05.
Wow!!! Never in my wildest dreams would I have expected John to treat us to the show he put on Saturday night Dec 11 in Colorado Springs. He never missed a beat even though the sound system was in need of attention. Despite the absents of Iris, even did a solo of "In spite of ourselves", however he was quick to point out the "girl parts". We were treated to all the oldies including "Lets talk dirty in Hawaiian" and "My Mexican Home". The new tunes sound intriguing and I can hardly wait for the album release in Apr 05. John was also kind enough to have a small "Grip and Grin" session that I've been waiting 29 years for. Holly cow!, an autograph, hand shake and photo with one of America's greatest. What a night! Thanks for a truly lasting memory! Great show!

For 2 1/2 hours John Prine entertained us with many of his old standards and a handful of new songs. I laughed, I cried and I came away with a smile that couldn't be scrubbed off. His high energy performance of his songs with their timeless lyrics was outstanding. Jason Wilbur warmed up the audience before John's set. Keep on eye on that young man.

Simply put, John was charming as shit. It was a standout performance. Prine rolled through all the hits, basically everything that turned up on "Souvenirs" minus a few. He played a bunch off the forthcoming release as well. Funny? Great? Yes...

PREVIEW

From the Grand Junction Sentinel
Grammy Award winner John Prine is making a one-night stop in Grand Junction.
Prine will play with special guest and Grammy nominee Iris Dement at Avalon Theatre on Saturday, Dec. 4, at 8 p.m.
Prine has been touring and recording since the 1970s. He was nominated for Grammy's in 1986 and 1988 for releases on his label, Oh Boy Records.
He won a Grammy in 1991 with his album “The Missing Years,” which featured Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty.
Prine went multimedia in 2001 with the release of his DVD, “John Prine Live Session at West 54th.”
Tickets for the Avalon show are $48 and are available through Tickets West locations.
“We’ve sold 600 tickets already and we’re thinking we’ll come close to selling out,” said Jade Nielsen, with I Spy Entertainment, the company out of Fargo, N.D. , that is putting on the show.
The price for the concert had to be above average for Grand Junction to break even, Nielsen said.
“We generally don’t do tickets that high but it’s a small-seater for John,” he said. “It’s actually reasonable to see him and Iris Dement. She’s a phenomenal folk artist. It’s pretty rare to see the two of them together.”
Dement is flying in to play with Prine at the Avalon show and in Boulder only.

oh my...haven't seen john in years but it brought back memories of Chicago circa 1970 where I was a total John Prine, Steve Goodman Fred Holstein groupie. My boyfriend used to ask "what do I need to do to make you look at me the way you look at them?" Steve and Fred are gone but John lives on stronger than ever. His songs are so for today ( Flag Decal especially). And he keeps writing new ones. I loved the Boulder concert. Really nice mellow venue. It was my first exposure to Iris Dement. Wow. They are a good fit. Was she a little tipsy in her opening act or is that just who she is?

God Bless John. I swear he gets better with age. This was one of the finest shows I have ever experienced. I have been going to see John for years and this show was one of his best. The set list covered almost all albums and included some new material from his upcoming record. There is just something genuine, soothing, and refreshing in John's music. With John's shows you can always wish for songs you want to hear because he has such an extensive library. Last nights show had to of left the entire audience with as much joy as I personally felt. Thank you John Thank you. If anyone has the set list from the show I would be very grateful to get it. I always get to hypnotized to write them down. I just can't get enough of the man and his music.
