My wife and I drove to Cleveland from Buffalo NY, to see John. From the
start of the show, when John said "The president asked me to play
this song" (Your Flag Decal,) to the final curtain, John held his
fans in his heart. I have seen John 4 times since being introduced to his
music some 30 years ago. It's not enough. John has that special way about
him, that says I know you and appreciate your coming to see me. It's a
quality not shown by many artists these days. He seems to be very humble,
and his words profound. From "Flag Decal", Dear Abby, Lake
Marie, Angel From Montgomery, Paradise, Sam Stone, Donald & Lydia,
Hello in There, to the many other songs John sang that evening, I
just gotta say thanks. Thank God there is still a real singer song writer
who believes in his music and plays it because he loves it. NOT just
because it saleable. God bless you John, and may He keep you singing songs
and moving hearts for a long time to come. Also God bless JoeJoe.

It is not very often (a word I seldom use) John comes to our area.
This time I took my wife and two of my kids. What a wonderful time. If you have never see him in person you can not
fathom how powerful he is on stage. He comes across as an old friend not a
celebrity. I have taken my family to many concerts including The George Strait Music Fest, Toby
Keith, Alan Jackson, Jimmy Buffet
Kenny Chesney etc. In the word of my 13 year old son seeing John
Prine means seeing Love and happiness I guess it means seeing all the best. I think he is right.

John Prine has a way of writing and performing songs that makes his audience feel that he knows them, that he's a good friend. He makes them laugh and cry, and they just can't seem to get enough of the stories he tells within a hardscrabble three-chord delivery that has become his signature. It was no different in Cleveland last night in the Palace Theatre. The only person that appeared to have a better time than the concert audience was John Prine, himself who ended the show like a grinning
Buddah. John Prine is a remarkable artist and human being. My wife and I hope to share another evening with him soon.
